If you maintain a fan e-mail list, send out catalogs or have a website the ICBC would greatly appreciate a mention of the Market Place.  Confirmed dealers at the Market Place are listed and promoted on our website and our marketing for the convention.

 

 

 

 

Table Space and Dealer Display Boards

 

The ICBC, Inc. will provide a single 8’ table

You are entitled to the same amount of display board space as you have tables.   Any problems should be brought to the attention of one of the ICBC club members.

ICBC provides as many tables as you pay for, additional tables may not be available.

Dealers will keep their area clean and is responsible for any damage including but not limited to: tables, chairs, signage, walls, and floors.  Dealer agrees to leave their area “broom clean” at the

close of the con. i.e. no left behind boxes, comics, or garbage.

The ICBC reserves the right to change table locations at the promoter’s discretion.

 

Display Regulations

 

No exhibit may block or interfere with any neighboring exhibit.

Dealers must police their own areas to be sure that noise levels from sounds systems is kept to a minimum and does not interfere with others.  The ICBC reserves the right to determine at what point sound constitutes interference with others and must be discontinued.

Character and compliance of exhibits is subject to the approval of the ICBC and all decisions regarding the display of material shall rest solely with the ICBC. This includes the use of signage, audio equipment, lights, table positions (i.e. stacking & rearranging), and the type of merchandise being displayed.  Also reference 4(B) regarding the display of Adult Material.

Any damage caused to the building by a dealer is the sole responsibility of the dealer.

No smoking or alcohol is allowed in the exhibit hall at any time.

Dealer agrees to remain set up during all open hours of the convention.

 

Payment for Space and Subletting

 

Dealer understands the payment policy and agrees to pay the fees as listed on the Dealer Booth Request form.

Refunds for booth fees may be requested until October 20, 2009.   After that refunds will only be available if the show is sold out.

Refunds will not be available due to Force Majeure  (see section 6)

Subletting is not allowed.

Merchandise For Sale

 

Dealer agrees that all merchandise for sale is legal and licensed.  Dealers selling unlicensed or “bootleg” merchandise, including t-shirts, photographs, video tapes, DVDS, CD-ROMS,  posters, etc., may be ejected from the convention with no refund and WILL be reported to the proper authorities.

Adult Material

Dealer agrees not to sell or distribute any adult material to minors.

All adults only material must be either behind the table or,  if displayed on the table must be bagged or covered so that minors may not open it.  Any adult material depicting nudity must be “blinded” (i.e. covered)

Adult video tapes/DVDS and magazines are not allowed to be openly displayed to the general public and must be kept behind tables. A sign may be posted to let customers know that you carry that type of merchandise.

 

Security

 

The ICBC is NOT responsible for any theft or loss. (See Section 6).

Dealer is responsible for their own security during the convention.  In the event of theft or public disturbance local law enforcement should be notified immediately.

 

Liability

 

The dealer agrees to protect, keep, and save the ICBC, the promoter of the event, forever harmless from any damage(s) or charge (s) imposed for violations or any ordinance or regulation by the dealer, his employees or agents, as well as failure to comply with the terms and agreements of this contract. 

Further, dealers shall at all times protect, indemnify, save, and keep harmless the ICBC against and from any loss, cost, damage, liability, or expense which arises out of or from or by reason of any act or omissions or the dealer, his employees, or agents.

 

Force Majeure

 

In the event that the convention center or any part of the exhibit area thereof is unavailable, whether for the entire event or portion of the event, as a result of fire, flood, tempest, or another such cause, or as a result of governmental intervention, malicious damage, acts of war, strike, labor dispute, riot, or agency which the ICBC has no control, or should that the ICBC decide that because of any  such cause it is necessary to cancel, postpone, or re-site the show, or reduce installation time, exhibit time, or move out time, the ICBC shall not be liable to indemnify or reimburse the dealer in respect of any damage or loss, direct or indirect, or act of God or the result thereof.

 

Amendments

 

The ICBC shall have the full power in the interpretation and enforcement of all contract regulations contained herein, and the power to make such amendments thereto, and such further rules and regulations as shall be considered necessary and proper.

 

The foregoing represents the agreement between the undersigned dealer, and the ICBC, Inc. the promoters of the Comic Book I-CON 11/7 2009.

2009 ICON Setup Information
For information about booth rate, deadlines and space availability for the November 7, 2009 ICON Convention contact Dealer Liaison Cordell Wabeke at 515-480-4451 or email majcomic@mchsi.com.   Information will be sent to you as soon as possible.  We will need your e-mail address & website address (if applicable), your business name, contact name, mailing address and telephone number (with area code).  All contracts MUST be returned with a signed contract AND disclaimer form as well as payment in full.

NOTE:  We are expanding our convention to include more than just comics books!  We are looking for dealers that sell the following types of merchandise:  Non-Sports cards, Sci-Fi/Horror, Action Figures, Original art, collecting supplies, TV/Movie Memorabilia, Board Games, Role Playing Games, Video Games, Collectible Card Games, Anime/Manga,  and 
DVDs/Videos (absolutely NO bootlegs!)
